How To Configure MacBook Pro
MacBook Pro has enchanted everyone. With the exclusive design and wonderful features like Touch Bar, the MBP deserves all praise.
Setting up a new Mac is pretty simple. But if you've switched from Windows to macOS, you might not find it too easy. Follow these simple 8 steps to quickly set up your MacBook Pro 2016.
How to set up a new MacBook Pro
Step 1. The new MacBook Pro automatically turns on when you open it. On other Macs, you must press the Power button to turn it on.
(To disable the new MBP, you must press and hold the Touch ID button located on the right side of the touch bar.)
Step 2. Next, you must select a language → Click Continue.
Step 3. Now, you must choose a keyboard layout → Click Continue.
Step 4. Select Wi-Fi network. (You will need to choose Other Network Options and then select Ethernet, if you connect to the Internet via Ethernet.) Now, enter the Wi-Fi password → Click Continue.
Step 5. If you want to configure your MacBook Pro as a new computer, you must select Do not transfer any information now → Click Continue.
(Follow these instructions, if you want to transfer the data from the old Mac to the new Mac)
Step 6. Now, check the box Enable location services on this Mac → Click Continue.
Then you need to sign in with your Apple ID. It is better to use the same Apple ID that you use on your other iDevices like iPhone, Apple TV to sync services.
Just in case, if you have enabled two-factor authentication, you will need to verify your identity. Click Continue. Then you agree to accept the terms and conditions. Click OK again to confirm.
Enter your full name for your Mac. If you're signed in with your current Apple ID, your name will automatically appear.
Then you must enter an account name. Again, if you are logged in with your Apple ID, it will automatically show up.
To secure your MacBook Pro, register your Touch ID. (On other Macs, you'll need to enter a password to protect your Mac. Then, you'll need to enter a Tip to easily remember passwords.
Check the box next to Allow my Apple ID to reset this password.
Although it may be less secure if someone has access to your Apple ID, as well as your password, it can be useful if you forget your passwords.
Step # 7. Check the Set time zone based on current location box. (Works only if you have activated Location Services.) Click on Continue.
• Next, you must check the Enable FileVault disk encryption box. FileVault will encrypt the contents of your Mac's hard drive.
• Check the box next to Allow my iCloud account to unlock my disk. Click Continue.
• Check the box next to Store files from Documents and Desktop in iCloud.
• It is part of the Optimized Storage function of macOS Sierra.
Be sure to check this box only if you have enough iCloud storage space to fit your entire desktop as well as document folders to sync. Click Continue.
Step 8. Check the box next to Enable Siri on this Mac. Click Continue.
Now let the setup process complete successfully.
